I’ve been travelling up and down the A34 from Southampton to the North quite a bit recently… which means I pass transporters full of JLR products approximately every 4 minutes! Two things I’ve noticed…
Firstly, is the Velar on sale already? Almost every transporter has one on board, but strangely, they are always at the same position, i.e.. top deck at the front. Just wondered why they’d go for this loading pattern? Secondly, although there’s quite a few D5’s heading to the docks I’ve actually passed quite a few transporters with brand new D4’s on them !!! WTF, are they still making them and where are they going? - I recon there’s a lot of customers who’d still like to buy a new D4?

D4's are still available but for export only. You might be able to import them back, but they'll all be left hand drive. I think they made a stock pile of them.

My dealer had a Velar on display for two days this week and I went to see it. First deliveries here in Belgium will be in september. I think it's a very attractive car. It's far too unpractical for me, but it looks so much better than the all new Disco.

The dealer I bought my D4 from has already taken 30 deposits for the new Velar without anyone seeing it or driving it.

D4's are not in production though ....I'm told the D5, RRS, FFRR & Velar are all on the same line at the mo ..Velar seems to be trumping everything else in terms of priority
