Issues after clutch/flywheel replacement - help please
Hi everyone,
i just got my car back after changing the flywheel /clutch, and now the section showing what gear its in, has completely gone ( it was dodgy before as i had the parking brake light on, which i got tired of resetting as the clutch slipped, but now its fully gone) cruise control also no longer works ( it used to before the clutch gave up ) and im also getting an additional 'transmission range change not available' message and it doesnt allow me to change to low range. i think its all linked to the same bit ( correct me if im wrong) but would anyone know whats happened? has the garage not fitted something properly, missed something?
if you have some time, please reply as i need to get back to the garage tomorrow with these issues and want to have some knowledge about what im talking to them about.

Thank you very much Oiley, i will pass on this information to them, you pay so much and you get more issues. id assume the x and y sensor wirings are near the clutch and they would need to remove the gearbox to get to the clutch again?
thanks

There are a number of threads on here about recalibrating the XY sensor. You could do it yourself by following the on-road procedure. Richard

Hi,
I tried calibrating the sensor, but no luck as I kept going back for ages and it just doesn't detect the gear it's in.
Thanks

Dirty magnets inside the gearbox
Should be cleaned every time the box is removed, but can be done in situ
