Can't they be a bit more patriotic

Watching the news recently it appears that with the exception of the PM, UK Government ministers seem to be chauffeured around in foreign cars. Why can’t they be a bit more patriotic (and also reduce the balance of payment deficit) and use JLR products? Yes, I do appreciate that D4’s are used by the protection squads but everyone else seems to use BMW’s.

Can’t imagine the French or Germans using anything except their own products !

JLR are a British company. They just happen to have Indian owners who've stuck up for us internationally and domestically and financed all the cars you see now. The problem is that BMW and the likes kind of give the cars away to get sales. We don't as we have customers waiting.

Perhaps they could drive around in cheaper cars - that would help reduce bills a bit too. We're all in it together...

Personally, I'd prefer to see the likes of BMW sell their wares at eye watering discounts to help pay for these cars and let the likes of JLR sell to retail customers at a price that means that they can afford to reinvest in the business!
