Aftermarket Sat nav - re-direct audio through head unit? |
|
I recently installed an aftermarket Sat nav into our D3 XS (no sat nav as standard). It has a Bluetooth HFK built into it
The sat nav & phone uses a separate external speaker which plugs into the unit on a std speaker jack plug but I noticed that the head unit had some speaker wires attached to the old parrot HFk which I removed at the same time which used to direct sound through to the head unit.
Can I tap into these and get the sat nav to come through the normal speakers does anyone know?
Also, the ignition feed I picked up is interrupted by starting the car - is there an ignition feed around the radio area one anyone can recommend that stays on while starting the vehicle?
Cheers Graham

You should be able to tap into those wires but not sure if the parrot kit had anything built in to override the sound of the stereo you would have to try and the only feed that you may get as uninterrupted feed is maybe the permanent live to the radio memory Discovery 3 se gone

Thanks Geoff,
It has 2 feeds, one permanent to hold memory, the other an ignition feed.
The ignition feed I have, comes on when you switch on with the key (good so far) and the sat nav powers up. When you go to start, it breaks the power while starting and then re-energizes it once its starts which means the power goes on and off to the sat nav and the sat nav goes through its re-boot again.
I'm trying to find a clean ignition feed which stays on once the ignition is energized and stays on, whether the vehicle is started or not? I know there will be one, just need to know where to look
Thanks Graham
