Groaning noise

Hi guys. When I get to about 50 mph I get a distinct groaning. that disappears when I lift off the accelerator. It disappears when I get to 70mph but that maybe due to not hearing it.
It sounds like a what I expect a worn diff to sound like. If it was the tyres I would expect that it it would be there regardless of lifting off.

not too sure re: diff.

Try to provoke, and then try to manually switch gears. I have similar phenomenon going on, i fear it's the torque converter...
