| Brake pads recommendations |
|
Check brake pad light came on today and I need new pads for the rears. Any ones to avoid ? Do you have to touch/adjust the epb at all ? TIA

pads work the foot brake.....there are shoes inside the rear disc for the electric handbrake...search on here theres loads about how to do it....bodsy brake bible good place to start

Yep the one's that I had. Unbranded rubbish.
Braking was never great but I assume as its was 12years old it was never going to be up to modern standards. However I had a slight oscillation through the pedal, little feel so I went with new discs and pads all round. Changing the fronts really didn't make much of a difference. Rears.....wow. 500% better.
LR supplied pads are Ferodo.
Didn't do anything with the EPB when I took the discs off apart from taking the fuse out. If you're not changing the discs there's no concern.
I changed caliper bolts and caliper anchor bolts at the same time and also replaced the brake sensor cable although did manage to remove the original one without damage. Torque for bolts are 35NM and 115NM.
G clamp for pushing the piston back. (Don't forget to remove any excess fluid).
