Car Phobia
One of the letters Agony Uncle Graham Norton in the Daily Telegraph this weekend is the sad tale of a chap who's phobia of cars is leading to him losing touch with friends and family due to not being able to drive to visit them. The sufferer points out that he is not afraid of driving per se; but that he is afraid of his own car, stating "Every sound I hear makes me think the wheels will blow up or the engine has failed, or the bottom of the car will drop off etc."
Grahams reply doesn't get to the real cause the issue, suggesting counselling as a solution. All members of this forum know there is only one cure - Sell the Land Rover Discovery!

Would have thought it would lead to serious withdrawal symptoms...
