D4 wingmirror upgrade to D4 facelift
Hi,
Cant find any post relating to this. As part of the facelift conversion I will be changing the mirrors. On the original D4 the indicators are on the body, but in the facelift they are in the mirror. Does anyone one know what wiring needs to be moved and where too so the indicators work on the mirrors?
Thank you

yes, did this last weekend
1. Unclip the side indicators and remove housing and bulb
2. Take door card off
3. Feed side indicator wires back through the door grommet and reinsert grommet
4. Snip the side indicator wires.
5. Tape off sound indicator ground cable black as not needed as new wing mirror already has ground going to it.
6. Link the remaining indicator wire to pin 12 on the wing mirror block (green cable IIRC) shown as Approach Lamps in purple on the wiring guide below
What do you fit instead of door mounted indicator?.

I've got a set of those resin SDV6 door badges if anyone wants them.D4.5 Facelift, Lazer ST4, Prospeed underbody and rack, IID BT, Compomotive/BFG KO2, Series MFlaps, RAI, Dog Gd+XBB, Alive Tuned, T-Max/YellowTop, RemoteFBH, GlassesMod, WheelWinchMod, Jack Mod, LED Mods, Seized Crank Mod....
tempted to say yes but as i'm not likely to upgrade the mirrors at the mo i'll see if anyone else shouts.
(so ... sort of "2nd dibs" before there's a 1st one ? )

Do you know if these new discovery mirrors are compatible across the board? The Range Rover, sport, discovery and evoque all appear to have the same style mirror? I need one with video as well. Do I have to order a certain type or do all mirrors swap over?
Thanks!

Sorry to hijack the thread but where are you getting the mirrors from? Everywhere I've looked mirrors are roughly £350 each!

With the new shape no, the body connections are all different shapes so you’ll need D4 specific ones

So I have to have wing mirrors specific to LR4s? Discovery or RR Sport wiring does not transfer over? It appears that they have the same style plug..
Any idea on where to find a set of LR4 wing mirrors heated, electric, puddle light and video?
Thanks!

Oddly enough, one of the first things that I did to my 2015 D4’s was to remove those dreadful “SDV6” badges and replace them with dummy indicators. If I were doing this, I’d split the cable to run both old and new indicators
Those badges just scream out that LR was too tight to update the pressing tools to remove the, newly redundant, hole in the pressing 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I’m sure electronic connections are similar / same but the surrond plastics that attach the wing mirror to the A pillar is different and this is why you can only use LR4 type wing mirrors Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

Ah I understand now. Do you happen to have a part number or know where these can be found? I just need memory, electric, puddle lamp and camera.
It appears some have some water wading technology / detection.. I dont know if that would effect anything if I bought mirrors with those options.
Thanks
