New Windscreen
I had a stone hit my windscreen last night and it's cracked it, so unfortunately I'll be needing a new one ASAP, so I thought it might be worth asking on here for anything I need to be aware of when having a new screen fitted to a 2014 HSE?
Any tips would be appreciated!

Search "windscreens". There are a lot of useful threads. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.
If your insurance company use ‘autoglass’ prepare for a fight over what make they want to fit.D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

I found its really down to the insurance company what they fit not the company fitting. As yours is fairly new you may get away with genuine. Admiral will pay for genuine up to 3 years old, I made a fuss with my 2012 when it was just over 3 years old and they agreed.
I had no problems with Autoglass, it will be more down to the individual fitter than the company!
Phone them and ask for genuine, I went straight to Autoglass rather than insurance and they dealt with it all.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Yeah i went straight to Autoglass direct, was told the screen would be 'same manufacturer spec', so I asked repeatedly if that meant it was from the same manufacturer but they kept saying 'yes sir, it's the same manufacturer spec' - I just made it perfectly clear that if it wasn't exactly the same screen made by the same manufacturer I wouldn't allow it to be fitted.
She then said that she could apply to my insurance company to see if they'd pay for an OE screen from LR, at this point I was expecting a fight to ensue but no, they've ordered one from LR and it's being fitted next week - oddly, when they booked the fitting time I was told that it requires two fitters?!

Wife said the other day that the Autoglass man had paid her a visit whilst I was out at work. She said he came to the house and used some special fluid and filled her crack. Thing was I was the one who had the car at work

Well, true to their word they've turned up (not 1, not 2, but 3 of them!) with a LR marked OE Pilkington screen and brand new clips, currently being fitted on my drive in pouring rain and pretty high winds!
