3 keys registered, but only ever had 2 keys...
Sitting inside our 2011 D4 SDV6 HSE with both sets of keys
IID BT ( Service/Test -> BCM -> Check How Many Keys) says 3 keys registered, 2 keys present
We've never had 3 keys; Don't know who might have the 3rd key or why. It's a bit of a worry
Can I use the IID to delete / de-register the mystery 3rd key? Can't see how, advice would be appreciated

Bought new?
Don't know if it's in the IID, but SDD has an "erase all transponders" procedure which then forces you to re-learn the existing keys from scratch.Wojtek

D3: IID will delete any keys not present when adding a new key
D4: IID cannot delete any keys already registered

That is bizarre - have you had the vechle from new?
I had to have a key replaced under warranty so I suspect my vehicle would show 3 keys registered but only 2 present.
Possibly a stupid question, but would cloning present as a registered key?

Someone lost one of them and replaced with a blank, the dealer coded it as the "3rd" key afterwards.Wojtek
