Have you tried changing the bulbs to LEDs to get more light with the same power consumption? That was what I was going to try when I next get round to looking at this.
But If you do get something else, please let me know. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Wiggs,
Maybe something like THIS or similar with an neat install and switch in the rear. Either on the rear pillars or into the top of the rear door section

Faced with the same problem I have tried a couple of those cheap "DOT-IT" LED lights, one eitherside of the forward facing slope over the tailgate top hinge. Not perfect, a bit of a narrow beam, but much better than the centre mounted default lighting. If I don't forget I'll take a pic and send it to my gallery later today.Rob Smith

LightForce do a work light on a coiled 12V cig lighter lead and is switchable. Mag mount but that does not mean to say that it cannot be fitted other ways

No ..due to it being such a small light , i doubt it would make a huge difference.

Nice idea ..but i would like something more permanant ..got enough stuff flying round my car as it is ..
I have been looking at the caravan type flat lights ..up to about 14"
However ...they all seem very dull , which defeats the object realy....G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Have a look at these... Have fitted some to a customers D3 for this very purpose.
Just stick to roof lining with velcro tape and wire in with existing interior light. Whole job takes 20 mins and can easily be removed. Lots of light and the strips are practically flush with the roof so never get in the way... Some blue ones underneath would look cool too!!
