D4 Servicing
D4 is coming up for a service. It’s the 4 year/60k mile one. Couple of questions.
1. How much will this cost at a main dealer.
2. Can I use an Indy and not affect my LR warranty.
3. If the answer to Q2 is yes then does the Indy need to be VAT registered.
4. If the answer to Q2 & Q3 is yes then what Indy is recommended close to Liverpool.
Ok it was 4 questions and not 2.
Cheers AndyD4 MY15 SE TECH

1. Around £650-700
2. Yes
3. My understanding is Yes, they need the be registered for VAT
They really know their stuff, shame the garage itself is tatty inside but I use them for all my stuff, apart from when I had my big 7 year service done as these guys gave a better price:
...These guys even picked up and dropped off afterwards.
Will be using either again this year for next service.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

I know
However even factoring in the fuel costs it will still work out over £100 cheaper than the main dealer D4 MY15 SE TECH

Not sure what MY your car is, but if you are talking about warranty, I'm guessing its no more than 3 years old. All JLR vehicles from 2013 onwards use Topix to record service history (OSH). Main dealers and registered independents have access to this system, so its worth checking first before booking your service. As with any working carried out during a warranty period, use of OE parts is essential.Joe

Dan I would of used a local Indy but due to mine being still under warranty I wanted the online service records to be update hence why I travelled to JAS.

Just been quoted £777 by Colchester Landrover for a 4th service. ouch.
They couldn't explain WHY it was that much when website says £495. they mentioned the paper filters that needed changing but thats a LOT of filter. And now't else obvious needs replacing.
So off to a local Indy. Luckily there's quite a lot in Essex and now I know to ask if they can access TOPIX. Thank you for that tip!2014 XXV

Did you ask what their labour charge was? That would probably explain it!
