Just tried to get the nut off but it won't budge 
Is it a normal thread i.e. anti clockwise to undo?
I have had it soaking in WD40 all week and do have a puller!!!

Yes it's a normal thread. I look mine off yesterday to spray the scuttle panel. The nuts came of fine and a few light knocks with a hammer to loosen the arms.
I did find that my spindles were quite corroded so this is probably a problem area. Kev
