Crankshaft pulley D3

Hi!
I am doing the f... oil pump job.. Censored
The pulleybolt was removed but the pulley has no position key.
How do i ensure that the crankshaft pulley comes corectly in position again???

 De-tangoed, G4 Winch, G4 Raised airintake, G4 Sumpguard, V8 brakes, 3 flash, clock on dash. Done belts, brakes, parkbrake actuator, transfer ecu, wheelbearings, air dampers, suspension arms, alternator, cruisecontrol,steelpan autobox++

you need the crank shaft locking tools installed to stop the crank shaft from moving, how did you undo the pulley bolt without them ?.

You put the locking tool in above the starter motor.
S/Motor requires removal.

It is then locked in tDC

Its locked well with the tool in the flywheel. So IT cant be wrong then?

Yes that’s correct the crankshaft is locked in position. You can put the pulley back on and tighten the bolt. The camshaft sprockets are slotted so when loose allow the belt to move but the crankshaft stays fixed. I hope you have both camshafts pinned out as well? When you put it back together it should all become clear. Good luck.

Thanks! All three locks in place Very Happy . Unfortunatly i had forgot to order new bolt so i have to wait a few more days.

just done mine, the old pump will be stuck to the block, it takes a bit of persuasion to get it off.
have you got the correct sealant for the bottom of the pump, victor reinz stuff is brilliant seems unaffected by oil.
I had found it difficult to fit new pump as it was catching on the bottom seal, but eventually got it on and the crank seal fitted ok and no leaks. good luck.
