I am using a friends IID tool as i dont have my own yet, will it still show me that screen?
The airbag light has been on since ive had the car.
Do you think the fact its a lot of driver related errors it could be cabling or connector?
Does that B1A00 code mean the ECU is goosed?MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

Hi
U should still be able to read the errors , if u pay £60 ur mate can add ur vehicle to allow u full access
Here’s a menu of what u can and can’t do which I hope helps
Here you go:
Full diagnostic capabilities (free of charge on any supported vehicles for the IIDTool BT)
• Fault read / clear
• Live values
• Control outputs
• Service / test functions (this includes service interval reset)
Advanced programming functions (IIDTool BT: one free VIN, additional license available at 60 GBP):
• Suspension height modification (this can be quite handy for your customers on specific situations)
• ECU Flash
• Car Configuration File editing
• Component and system calibration (steering angle sensor calibration etc)
• Advanced functions including backup / restore, save profiles – vehicle system settings and
configurations are read and stored as a backup file for a restore function, various changes
Ref the codes , ecu might be ok
May i ask , do u ever get swanley way , reason I ask is if u do I’ll help u go through the entire airbag system if u wish
Was the same with mine so indeed could be a a lot of things , with the iid I was able to reset the crash data , know it’s not always possible , the data will still be in the ecu but turns the srs light out
If I may suggest ,
1) either get ur own iid or pay £60 to be added to ur mates , Clear the codes and then see what comes back
2) if the airbag light is still there get the live data ohm readings
Hope that helps

Found the pics of my seat belt pre tensioners , these had fired and ur see the wire out the end and the plastic of the seat belt cover crumbled
At least then ur see what urs are like
I had plenty of help so nice to pay it back , Pete K was also a legend in helping me going through the system
Also if I may add please DONT , ever put a multimeter on an airbag as also mentioned ref the battery
Some pics of my D3 when I was tracing and fixing airbag faults

Wow thats a massive help! Thanks,
Sadly im not often down that way
I did as recommended, firstly the seat belt tensioner looks fine. Cleared the codes and got the same codes back.
Using the IID I get the following live values. I guess the ones with 0 are because its 5 seat and these are curtains in the rear?
Whats strange is I get the same error codes if I scan with the connection under the seat disconnected as I do with it connected.
Thanks again for your help.
Whats weird is I get this on both sides, My thought is its an issue with wiring from drivers seat back to ecu but the car knows when the driver is wearing a seatbelt.

Many thks glad it’s useful
Number 11, is ur drivers seat air bag pretty sure number 10 x is the passenger side
Because 10/11 are at zero I assume there disconnected
Are the seats electric please and do they Both work
Have a look under both front seats and see if there are any yellow wires laying around plse ,
If I may say , if u do find them, don’t be tempted to plug them in as of yet
These were some faults I had with mine

Pasted ur faults over here so save having to go back and forth between pages
Have also got a horrible feeling that the front sensors by the bumper are either unplugged/ faulty or missing due to the gap iid frontal impact data
Have u checked ur impact sensors yet plse

Thanks for the detailed reply
I have manual seats not electric
I did have a look under the seat and couldn’t see anything hanging out but will have another look
Haven’t looked at anything yet in the front bumper.
Do you think it’s possibly not the ecu or clockspring?MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

Hi
Many thks for the pics , difficult to see what colour plugs are there , if u get time plse, disconnect ur battery , wait for 30 x mins then unscrew that black connector and take another pic plse of the colour of plugs,
Would u mind quickly doing something plse, remove the windscreen pillar panels and double check the curtain airbag is there please, is held in my one torx screw
Got a horrible feeling some items are missing here , just wish to try and rule them out before going further
The front sensors can be seen by removing ur front headlights , easy to check if they are actually there and connected and see what colour they are please,
can then at least establish things before going further , ie ecu or clock spring , would hate for u to replace items and then find out parts are missing
Hope that helps
