Ssangyong Rexton !!!! take one out and see what you think.
I wont say it does everything a Disco does as I got shot down for it not having air suspension........ but it has 7 seats, 4 x 4 when you want it and a low range box. Tows 3.5 tons and has a 7 year warranty or 150k miles. I am getting 32mpg so probably realistically 29 at best. Drove 600 miles in it this weekend and it was fab, so many features regarding safety and also Apple car play. Apple car play is great but seriously getting on my nerves with the kids as they can change the music every 2 mins from their phones. Which after 5.5 hours during a trip gets annoying.
I bought an Ultimate model, brand new and had a removable tow bar, mats and side steps fitted for £34,200 all in. I pay £24 a month for a 5 year fixed servicing plan, which you can cancel as and when you want. The warranty is bumper to bumper, consumables are not covered as you would expect but if anything mega happens it goes back to be fixed free of charge. There are bits where you can see they have saved money, some plastic bits here and there but it doesn't look cheap and is great towing the horse box etc. Been very happy with it so far, and also more relaxing than driving the D3 waiting for the next warning light to appear. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

It has no petrol option?
I have never owned a diesel, and nor would I.
I will just hold out for the unicorn of a 5+2 RRS S/C 05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

was the V8 D4 (7 seater) sold in Japan (therefore RHD)? If so, would it be worth looking for an import?
