D3 not starting
Hi Team.
I've just finished having a replacement motor fitted in my D3 TDv6 due to the cam-belt tensioner mount failing on the old one.
We can't get the new one started, we have had all the codes reset and they all seem happy enough, we area getting a high pitch whining from two of the injectors that stops when the key is turned off or they are disconnected.
Any body else had this problem?
Are the injectors stuffed?
Grateful for any advice.
Cheers
Steve

Is your replacement engine the same emissions protocol as the one you are replacing?
On EU models an EU3 vehicle will have different injector,s HPFP, egr's, etc to an EU4 !
I do not know what protocols exist down under but it might be relevant if you are using an earlier donor vehicle yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Thanks,
D3 was a UK import and the replacement motor came from a RR Sport of the same year, we have had to use the original injectors from my old motor as the replacement motor came without them.
Would this show up on the diagnostic?

As your D3 is a 07 UK import it will be subject EU4 emissions protocols. (HPFP, injectors, EGR's, etc)
Your replacement RRS engine must be fitted with a EU4 HPFP as it will not run on your EU4 injectors if its an EU3 pump!! The engines are the same, so its just a question of establishing if you are running the same compatible EU4 components !!
I don't want to take you down a "red herring" pathway, but you need to be certain that you are not combining EU3 with EU4 as it just will not work. If you are satisfied all is EU4 then you need to post here the DTC's from ALL ECM's not just the engine. Also what diagnostic tool are you using!!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Thanks again G
I’m pretty sure we didn’t change the fuel pump, egr or fuel rails.
I still have them on my old motor.
How hard is it to swap the HPFP in situ? Or would it be easier to get new injectors?
Thanks again you’ve stopped the two of us from losing it!
Get some sleep!

Have you coded the injectors to the engine?

Whats the next step? I’m out of my depth for sure on this and nearly out of cash!
Would injectors from a NZ new Peugeot Lion motor fix this?
Thanks again
Steve

Have you established where the RRS came from and what emissions protocol it was subject to? Also, this might sound silly but you did fit the copper injector seals under each injector? It's only a guess but injectors from a Citroen C6 might be ok but again the emissions protocol must match.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Hi Profsr G
New washers fitted, how hard is to check up on the emission stuff ? I think I have the engine number and number plate is that all I need?

Do you have access to the VIN of the RRS? That would tell you if E3 or 4.

Hi DSL
I’ve just run the vin number through carjam and it says it EU3,
Can the vin number itself confirm this?
Thanks

I think so, bear in mind my techie super powers are virtually non existent. If it’s a MY06 or earlier, it’s EURO3, MY07 & up EURO4.
