DIBS please for the amplifer ?
Hi Paul )
I'm interested in your amp please, for a friend whose amp was flooded by crazy-gang valeting bodgers.
Dry-out and cleaning with isopropyl alcohol didn't fix it, but his system works OK on a similar borrowed amp.
I'm happy to take the risk for £70 that your amp MIGHT not work perfectly. May I p.m. you an address near Belfast to post to ?
If the amp doesn't work in my friend's car I promise no hassle !!
With thanks and regards )

Very worried :-(((
Dear Paul,
I've been trying to reach you by P.M. since 4 Sept, no reply.
You confirmed you sent me the Harman Kardon amp on 27 Aug, and you confirmed you received my payment.
You acknowledged my P.M. dated 4 Sept where I advised no delivery and the Hermes tracking trail stops where the package arrived at their collection depot 30 Aug.
I sent you further PMs 6 and 8 Sept asking you to engage, but you've not responded. I sent an email to the address for your PayPal a/c, no reply either.
It's now 13 Sept, the amp I've bought from you hasn't arrived and your courier continues to report it located at their collection depot.
I want to discuss the situation with you and agree action, but I can't do so if you don't respond. It's occurred to me perhaps your P.M. feed is not working, hence I'm messaging to you here in the original "PARTS" thread where you advertised.
Please will you contact me ASAP. The amp. I bought from you has not been delivered, it's been stationary with Hermes for 2 weeks - I am therefore WORRIED !!
With regards,
Kevin Thomson

The value of reputation
Wise caution from aja4x4 !
And my thanks to Sea Raider for pointing me to PayPal ) Unfortunately, being naive and trusting, when the nice friendly seller asked me to pay his wife via PayPal, I did so using the "Gift" process - this ensures the payment recipient does not suffer deduction of a service fee from PayPal. I now realise this payment method is banned for DISCO3 trades because it is open to abuse; I failed to read the small print, and PayPal has declined to refund me.
Well I have now been stung because in this (VERY RARE) case the cautioned abuse has taken place.
I pursued with Hermes (did I spell that correctly, perhaps there should be a "p" somewhere ?). Their automated response told me that the package cannot be located, and as the recipient, my only recourse is to contact the sender; Catch 22.
Only glimmer of hope is that Hermes sent me a comprehensive feedback link where I was able to post extensive detail about the case. I am watching that space !
For myself, I'd not risk the reputation of "BAD EGG" for £70 !!
I have bought several items from honourable, friendly, helpful DISCO3 members, trades have always ended in excellent fashion. This is the first time I've stumbled into what seems to be a BAD EGG. I guess I'm disappointed, but not discouraged.
I thank WARMLY all those members who act honestly and have always done so )
Kevin Thomson
P.S. - I acknowledge it's JUST possible some serious calamity befell this seller and his wife just after he acknowledged my package is missing with Hermes. Time may tell.

Trust and reputation
Hi Aja4x4 )
Yes, I do have ONE contact detail - the payee's email address (appears to be the seller's wife).
When trouble first arose I emailed a request to that address asking that she or Paul would engage with me to resolve the courier problem (courier lost the item which Paul sold to me; courier was hired by Paul).
I received no response, so I then sent a request transaction via PayPal to the corresponding PayPal a/c, requesting £70. There has been no response or corresponding payment received.
Therefore in summary, my following requests for assistance have been ignored :-
1. PMs via this forum
2. Email to payee
3. Posts via this forum
4. Request for refund via PayPal to payee.
It's difficult to imagine the seller and payee could have failed to see ANY of the above, therefore is seems probable they are both simply doing a stonewall and have their heads in the sand. Perhaps some people cope with a mishap in that way - "just ignore, it will go away, they'll give up, too much trouble" - etc. etc.
I've been careful not to slander in this forum, but via the facts I've disclosed to date there seem few alternative conclusions to draw other than the obvious one !!!
Going forward, seems to me seller needs to MAN-UP and take responsibility for pursuing the courier he hired.
Kind regards to (nearly) all forum members - and Go Canny ))

Kevin, I have an amp in the workshop, I am fairly certain it has an intermittent fault hence why I changed it out. Its been sat for a few years, always hoped someone would find a cure for it.
You are welcome to it, to try it.
If you think its any good, PM your address and I'll send it to you FOC, I've had loads of help off of here and carried out many transactions without any problems so happy to give something back.
My amp came from a 2006 SE highline set up, its the silver amp not the black logic 7
