Mysterious Suspension faults - Updated with codes....
First off I don’t have GAP IID code reader, (posted in wanted section) just a generic one.
I am getting various messages with slightly different circumstance.
Initially a poor cold start lead to orange/yellow light and suspension fault message. Reset with an turning off and on and my reader showed no faults.
Few days later after driving a few miles I got the orange warning light and suspension fault message again reset with off and on. This now happens every time I drive it after a few min.
Sometimes when calling for off road height I get vehicle slow to raise and special programmes unavailable messages all with the orange warning light.
There are no audible leaks. And mysteriously there are never any fault codes with my or my friends readers. I know it’s a long shot without fault codes but perhaps all these scenarios lead to it being one thing? I’m taking a gamble it’s the Compressor?
If I’m on the right lines how can I test the compressor to see if it is my issue?
TIA

Possibly a couple of things. These vehicles require a very good healthy battery condition and alternator, so check the battery volts. If this is not up to scratch a lot of other things will show a failure. As it is cold at this time of the year in the UK these engines rely on the glow plugs for starting and initial running, if battery is low then glow plugs may not work or you have bad glow plugs. See if you can check the resistance of them.

Exactly the same problem here - mine began to play up yesterday after the couple of days of bad rain. The driver's side footwell was drenched, so I took the damaged drain plug out and popped it into a bottle until the new part arrives. My suspension eventually clears itself but on the 4X4 screen the left rear wheel seems to be lower than the rest.

If it was battery related I would expect it to show a fault straight after start up? They only seem to come up after about 2.5miles of driving... I’ll stick a meter on it and see though!

Took the cover off my compressor today, it has an AMK compressor fitted.
The OEM number on my compressor is BH32-19G525 which doesn’t seem to be factory fit, and there are only two posts that return this Pn on a search! This seems to of been changed before I owned the car be to this one. It’s a 2016 compressor looking at the dates on its labels. The car is a 2006 D3 2.7tdi HSE.
Am I going to be able to service this as I can’t seem to find a filter and desiccant kit for this PN?
Waiting on my IID tool to read codes and find out abit more about what’s going on. For the sake of £30 I thought I’d try a compressor service in the mean time.....

Hi
These companies sell dryer filter kits for the AMK
might just be the dryer material as when that turns to dust it blocks the filters up
Also seen this , don’t know if it’s any good , but at least checking the dryer material/ filters first will let u know the general condition before going any further

So the car went into limp mode a few times this week displaying “engine system fault”. Few times at (cough) 70mph ish on the motorway. A few times coming off dual carriageway way roundabouts. An off and on saw it reset each time. I have now changed the compressor filters and desiccant. But still have suspension fault showing. Now I can read the codes I’m even more confused.
F/C showing on scan are
1. C1A13-64 - Intermittent - Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery.
2. C1A36-01 - Intermittent - Exhaust valve.
3. C1A18-64 - Intermittent - Pressure increases too rapid when filling reservoir.
4. C1A20-64 - Permanent - Pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir.
5. U2000-67 - Intermittent - Motor temperature
How can the pressure increase show as too rapid and too slow when filling reservoir?! Why is this causing engine system fault and putting the car in limp mode!?

They do not occur at the same time. You may need to remove compressor and refurbish it totally including the valve

Thanks I shall do some reading around the valve and what might be required to refurb it.

So for completeness I feel it’s helpful to have an answer posted.
After a few attempts at trying to find at fix the issue it turned out to be a rusty air reservoir leaking.... see picture with it pressurised off the car and leak detector applied.
New tank fitted, problems seem so far to of gone away

Well done. Hope you coated it with something to stop it rusting again
