We had salad a couple of days ago, honest!

Though it was washed down with a bottle of claret, which has a different meaning here. Think dark rosé.

Though after yesterdays excesses not ready to think about wine just yet. Give it a week or five! Embarassed

And greatings from ……………….. Lyon, the restaurant capitol of France. Laughing Laughing Thumbs Up

Church on the hill, mini Eiffel Tower and our hotel, the long building on the river front. Been upgraded to a 2 floor suite with double height windows, I don’t think I’ve ever had to do a vertical pano shot for the window view!

Out and about for a walk, and to get in supplies, love the buses that use overhead wires and pantograph. Saves digging up the road to put in tram lines, though Lyon has them too.

And re diet, salad tonight, with coffee/tea. Salad was €3.45, about the same as a sarnie. Bargain!

Lazy night planned, watching TV and general slobbing is in order.

Oh, and a pic I forgot to post. Looks like the good peeps have found a solution to those pesky (and I’m being polite) rental ebikes and escooters, they chuck them in the Seine. Unfortunately the police dredge them out again but doesn’t look like these are going anywhere soon.

More food, oysters from local market for me and strawberries for SWMBO.

Having not shucked an oyster in 20 odd years it was an interesting experience. Bit messy in the hotel room so one off. Plus was a bit stressful as on anticoagulants so one slip of the shuck or sharp shell and it would have been interesting.

The very ragged edge. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Laughing Laughing

Last time I had oysters like that was when we did motoring holibobs to the S of France in the mid 90s. We’d buy a dozen oysters and find a car park with a nice view to enjoy them, well I did. Mind you I used a pen knife and used to regularly slice myself. Embarassed Embarassed

Will bung up some pics later, waiting on the lady that runs the Lyon Fine art Museum finishing her lunch.

Needless to say with prices in France you have to be in the Monet!

And, for your culinary delectation, food related pics.

Chicken and cheese chips!!

Lots and lots of cake, not all eaten by me. Honest!

This didn’t appeal, I tend to choose ice cream from the freezer rather than a list.

But out of frame it had a mega queue.

And lunch today. Notice bottle of wine has reappeared. Excesses of Bordeaux almost forgotten. Not on red yet though.
