iPod connector

My '04 Disco doesn't have the iPod connector as standard. There are 3 leads behind the recess in the cubby box/centre console. 1 seems to be a powere lead, the other two look the same with 5 leads going into a multi plug.

Anyone know if this is the aux in ? If so, how do I connect to it?

Ian

Hi Ian,

When you say 'iPod connector', I assume you're referring to the AUX socket (3.5mm) on the back of the centre cubby box.

In cars that do not have this fitted from the factory, the three plugs you're probably seeing are the 12V power (as you correctly spotted) and two sockets for the rear heated seats (one each side).

Have a look here:

I hope this helps Thumbs Up

how many pins do the 2 connectors have...if 10 the they are for heated rear seat wiring...

if 6 in a straight line then that will do the aux input

The two plugs each have 5 wires (it's beginning to look like they're the heated seat connections!).

Ireland 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 5 Seat Manual Tonga Green

Hi Ian

A couple of us on here have discovered the same thing with the green plugs just recently. Bit of a downer but not to worry. There is a way around it - not as simple as fitting a new panel- but not very complicated I have been assured.

I'm hoping to have mine looked at this coming weekend and I know one of the lads has his booked in for tomorrow.

I'll let you kow what the outcome is when I know more.
