| Phone making terrible noise |

The phone in my wife's car is making a terrible thumping sound when using the Nokia 6230i in the LandRover cradle. (And yes, I have had the software upgrade).
The dealer is saying that the cradle is faulty but I tried it in my other Disco3 and it works fine.
Any suggestions as to what this might be??????
They also asked me who fitted the cradle, and I had to point out to the guy that the car came with all the electrics preinstalled and the cradle just clicks into place (no skill required). By the way the car is a 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE.
