Problems with Voice commands for phone and ICE

Hi Guys.
I have scanned down the subjects being talked about, and I see Im not the only one with the above sort of problems.
I have just bought my first D3 its an 06 S spec (Ex Land Rover owned) My problems are as follows and any help would be greatfully received.
1, I seem after pairing my XDA Orbit phone to the Blue tooth system only to be able to receive calls through the BT system, I can only (I think) make calls if dialed from my phone. Im not sure if I can move across the phone book to the LR system.
2, When ever I try to use the voice command it only wants to talk to me about the phone directory and will not do anything else (CD, Radio etc)
Thanks in anticipation.

Al

I've give up trying to talk to my car (07 TDv HSE) ... The little voice inside the box only know "Sorry" or "Unknow Command". Yes I do speak with a good english accent. As you can imagine... no I don't use the function

....softly softly

...I had a similar problem some time ago....I posted on eher & was well advised that speaking softly worked better that annunciating words & going loud....most of the commands work....the only snag Ive found is that I cant remember all the commands.

I seem to use a few that are handy & thats about it.

I now have a an S-type 2.7 - mine hasn't got the Jaguar Voice...but my next door neighbor's similar car has - having checked the Jaguar voice system it seems to work more readily than the D3...I am led to believe its the same makers system (if it isn't I'm sure I will be told) - there again a lot of the control systems seem "better".....& there not only one legible clock but two......pity LR used the parts bin they did
 ....have Disco3 HSE TD6 Auto...
....also S Type 2.7 Auto....

You can get a BT upgrade to allow phonebook on your BT phone system. See yo0ur nearest dealer, they should know about it & should be 50 minutes labour caharge. Thumbs Up

SLiK - I found that just speaking 'normally' (whatever that is) works fine.

I initially tried the full 'slow and loud, speaking to the old dear' mode and then, when that didn't work, the old BBC received pronunciation and that didn't work either.

It now just seems to work fine whether it's changing CDs, setting up the navigation (e.g cancel guidance etc) or whatever.

I remember there was a good list of most (if not all) the voice commands in a post somewhere.

Hi Guys.
Thank you all for you time spent replying.
I will try the dealer upgrade option for starters and see where that takes me. Might also consider changing my phone type to see if another works any better.
If anybody thinks of anything else in the mean time please let me know.

Thanks again Al

One other suggestion - change the language setting for the system to UK English - mine left the factory as US English, wouldn't work, so I changed it as I had similar problem with a Tom Tom and hey presto!
 Engage Permagrin - check
Key in ignition - check
Turn key - check
Keep smiling....
