Hello all,
Is anyone out there using 245/70R17 Cooper ST's on their D3. Always used BFG AT's on my D2, with great success. I mainly use mine around the farm and towing plant/horse box trailers. However, my local LR dealer seems to think I am an isolated case, when it comes to wanting to fit AT type tyres and have an issue with regard to honouring the warrantee, should I alter size or speed ratings from standard. Has anyone got to the bottom of this?
Regards, IAN.

Me - I have them on permanently - has been into the dealer a number of times with no query or complaint

And that includes a new front diff - I'm assuming your dealer would be querying stuff around drive train Steve N | 2006 TDV6 S Auto in Buckingham Blue | Member of the top ten club | Am I online?

yes I use STs all the time. Get about 45,000 miles out of them and they are great off-road. Occassionally put on the STTs but they are noiser on the road.
STs are a bit frisky in the wet around sharp bends, you just have to remember to slow down
Re Warrnaty, my dealer has no issues with any of the mods made. Just remember to tell the insurance company as they are classed as modifications Duncan

Many thanks SN.
My LR agents are just a bit perplexed by it all really, as I wanted them fitted pre delivery, as part of the price. I just think they are not used to selling one, to someone who might use it for the role intended!! They brought the warranty issue up and have they have been confused ever since. They claim to be chasing LR for an answer -but you know how customer friendly they are!! Your vehicle look quite smart - are you pleased with it?

Steve, which tyre rating did you fit 110S or 119Q for the 245/70/17?

The 245/70x17 Cooper ST has a 110S rating and the STT has a 119/116Q rating.
We keep both in stock.

I can't see how the tyre will affect the warranty. Unless you're using something that requires modification of the wheel arch, I persionally think they're talking out of their pock ridden bottom!
No I could understand (to some extent) if they said this about non LR wheels, but quite a few of us have non 'showroom' wheels & tyres so tell them to get it sorted or else go somewhere else! TDV6 HSE Black, Black Wheels /MTR's(in the shed!), Black RRS front/rear LR badge (tbf) Black Leather, Black Glass, Black TowB, Shiny Tasmods, Dull Mantec, White (& Orange) Reflective D3 Sticker, Black steering wheel badge, black air intake. Optima & Traxide dual battery setup.
Need black RRS wheel centre caps.
Now with added Engel.....
We D3, therefore we are..........
