Before going to the not inconsiderable expense of getting my cousin in Cheshire to
ship me one of these over here,I would appreciate some input from owners of such.
I've searched the Forum and found Christyler and Nodo$h gallery photos of use and damage.
Are these necessary for green-laning and hillside tracks or are we talking Salisbury and other assault
course terrain ? ........
How many of you have exhaust damage and diff. impacts that would not have occurred if
an Asfir cover was inplace ........ and have you subsequently purchased one ?

Hi Neil,
I have the under body kit from asfir, including the diff guard.
I fitted the stuff to do Le Croissiere Blanche. This event is in the French Alps on rocky & icey climbs.
Chris Tyler & I were the first 2 D3's to do the event.
Mine has no damage.
Whether that is luck or different driving style is any body's guess.
It is very very very heavy. The dif guard weighs more than the sump & g/box guard together.
It collects mud and rubbish at an alarming rage and you will need a hammer & chisel to get it all out.

It does pick up a fair amount of mud, that's for sure; usually get it out with 10 minutes of jetwash. Can't say hand on heart it's ever saved my car from damage, but happier having it there than not.
That said, my new D3 isn't going to be used for laning as we have a perfecly good 90 sat in the drive for that, so mine will be up for sale along with the Mantec and ASFIR gearbox guard shortly.  Going, going...... Gone!

Well I ripped off the bottom bit on the plastic thingies in front of the spare wheel and my exhausts showed quite a lot of scratch marks. This was enough of a reason to get the ASFIR plate.
I've been offroading twice since and I do feel much more comfortable when bumbing my rear end (which I do regularly) with it guarding the diff and exhausts. It is really good at collecting tons of mud and I can only second that it is a pain in the  to get it clean again. Still I would definitely buy it again.
