COR! Look at the rack on her!
That's what I want people to say when they see the Disco!
(well I had to get your attention some how )
SO, I have arranged to borrow a roof box from a friend when we go camping in two weeks, as we will be 6 up and camping clobber tends to be soft and squishy but large in volume, and as we need the space in the boot for the tent and some other heavy bits I figure roof box is the answer. I am going to invest in a set of bars though (don't want to buy box, no where to store it).
I know its been done to death but I am still slightly confused over the Thule bars to get (I am going to get Thule, not LR, decision already made).
Read ALL the threads I could find with search, we have a MY07 HSE with the roof tracks (but not raised rails), and I need:
3027 adapter kit
751 or 753 foot kit
Aero bars (already decided Aero not square)
The 753 and 751 are the same, but the 753 (8.5cm high) are a low profile version of the 751 (11.5cm) I have found out. So 753 it will be.
But bars, options seen are:
861 - 120cm bars (multi threads - also roofbox.co.uk configurator)
862 - 135cm bars (canoe thread)
869 - 127cm bars (thule.co.uk configurator recommendation)
Having measured the car just now with a borrowed tape measure (it is a Friday afternoon in the office after all!) it seems to me 120cm bars (model 861) are fine?
Does anyone have a picture front on with the 861 (120cm) or 869 (127cm) bars so I can see the difference in overhang?
Fisherman had a picture in his gallery that came up in search:
But its side on and its hard to see the overhang, according to the note on the pic these are the 861 (120cm) bars and they seem to do the job?
Any owners experience welcomed... sorry for new question on well covered topic.Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

Well I bought the Atera bars, so I'm not a lot of good to you
Now where's the pics of some nice boobies? 8)I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
