Hope this works for you John C as it didn't work for me. I spent about 2 hours trying to do this from the buttons on the fascia as per everyones suggestion (not in the manual), but it just didn't happen.

Fortunately, I got a reprieve when the boot release itself started to work again of its own accord. I promptly programmed the keyfob from the back of the car and it worked first time. Five minutes later, the boot release stopped working again but my kefob has been used ever since.
