I bought one of the new smooth leather steering wheels off ebay this week, and fitted it today. The improvement over the coarse grained leather wheel is amazing - at last a steering wheel that matches the quality of the rest of the vehicle .

Thanks, that's a really useful guide. I ordered one and will be fitting it next week. I'll need to make the cut out for the phone controls which I'll be fitting to control the Parrot.
I did the cut outs with a stanley knife on the old wheel - not too difficult if you measure (and cut!) carefully
I wonder if a new airbag design is available to match the smooth leather? For a long time I've been annoyed that the steering wheel in my wife's Toyota Yaris feels and looks better than the one in my D3 - not any more Previously:

I had one fitted by the dealer a couple of weeks ago under warranty , really does feel and look much better.
Got a courtsey one today from enterprise, 58plate but got the original wheel on, really does feel horrible after using the new one
Funny you should say that. I fitted a nice soft leather wheel and gear knob in Mrs M's Aygo a few weeks back!
On a completely separate note, I'll be down in Tavi the week before the August bank holiday. Fancy finding some lanes for a bit of off-roading over Dartmoor (if such things exist down there!)......?

Definitely There's a few short byways around here that are worth a look.

Oh well, it's definitely not a grained wheel Nick, so they must have used an older box to ship it. The date stamps on the wheel are very recent, but no idea where they soured these from. And I paid the retail price (I know I could have waited for a D3 discount, but I'm not that patient )Previously:

Nice write RM!
I must admit, however that I prefer the original replacement one. (If you know what I mean. )The Bearded Dragon
