Ciggy Lighter cover fix - Help
I have read all the posts on the forum regarding H panel removal and Aux power hook ups for a GPS retro fit...but I need help removing more.
I have successfully removed the H panel and climate control unit. On a separate occasion I have removed and replace the whole black section of consol between the dash and the cubby between the seats incorporating the gear lever area (the coating was peeling off the plastic)...I believe this needs to also be removed. I am trying to get to the wires for the Aux power jack(For a Garmin install) and did so by finding the wires above the ashtray facia so not needing to take the ash tray section out...and then...
...as I was fiddling and small pin fell out my cigarette lighter cover/flap and now that darn thing won't stay closed... So, now I need to remove that ash tray facia and try find where that tiny steel pin goes in order to fix the darn thing!! Unless someone know where the pin goes?
Once the H panel is out and the consol between the seat is lifted, where do I loosen or unclip to get this ash tray panel out??
Really irritated as I was all the way there without breaking anything... "If you want to go fast, go alone...If you want to go far...Go together!"

My ciggy lighter flap was always open and I too couldn't work out how to do the removal, so a simple fix was needed.
Velcro is the answer, it works a treat on mine. Mods:

Hey Caltrigger, any chance of a photo of the pin/flap please. Mine stays open and I cant find where a pin might go, assuming that it's missing.
Either post in your gallery or pm me please.

Okay, so I actually found the small pin I thought was lost (stuck to the side or the tray in some grease)
Its hard to explain the place so I have indicated it on some photos. Please PM me for my emaila nd I will send the pics as I cannot post them here.
The pin is about 1.2mm in diameter and 4mm long. Unfortunately I did not measure it up before replacing it!!
Hope this helps guy fix this problem..."If you want to go fast, go alone...If you want to go far...Go together!"

Any chance you can PM me as well, I had a jammed ashtray that wouldn't close. Upon removal of the culprit (50 cent piece) and reassembly, I can't get the lighter cover to close.

The thread was from a few years ago so you may not get a response .....
The unit costs around £30 new and can be fitted with a bit of effort ...
