Owned two D3s (since Feb 2006) with none of these problems.
LR Bedfordview is however a problem. I will not take my vehicle there again.

Spoke to my dealer today, letters being sent out at the end of the month to recall all vehicles affected. They offered to do mine first, I declined and will wait till they have practised on a few first.
They did wonder how I knew about it, they had not even heard it was coming till I raised the issue

Brake failure and pump/ steering?
Hi Tony and welcome,
Had the same problem with a precursor,
Just out before my three year warranty expired and AFTER final service, I heard gurgling noises from the front (like a perculator). LR Cape Town could not say what it was. I found that pressing the brake suppresses the noise. Went to Botswana for three weeks and found brakes mushy, ie press down, it goes through and does not brake the vehicle properly; Nearly ran a robot on the way back due to this. Scary.
LR now indentified the "brake pump" (vacuum pump?) as problem and with oil in the brake fluid.
I have Motorite extended warranty and it seems that LR is not fixing it as their resposibility; despite my raising of the problem prior to my LR warranty expiring. Waiting for parts and outcome of who pays. (Not me).
I have also had a strange stiff response of steering: Is there a connection?
From this site it seems the above problems are common and known to LR and that there ought to be a recall. Another court action may be looming (no pun) ...
PS also had the handbrake screaming made for the umpteenth time: the fix before was greasing (it seems) now the "actuator" to be replaced, which I was led to believe was done under warranty: I wonder if LRSA tells Motorite they do not properly fix problems, only postpone them. I have a problem with this."None of Nature's landscapes are ugly so long as they are wild"

Thanks guys
Yesterday LR Bedfordview came back to me and told me that so far LRSA will pay 33% of the costs but they are still in talks with LRSA and that they are sure that LRSA will pay more.
I'm expecting an answer either today or tomorrow.

Hi AP
My steering is fine; I don’t think there’s a connection.
AP, when did you take this up with LR? Was this a reason thing?
I wonder how many people in SA have this problem.

Please excuse the spelling mistake, it should be resent and not reason.

World wide problem. But no recall for SA? UK released one recently though.
Recall issued for Euro IV but Euro 3 on way.
There is no way you should have to pay anything for them to fix.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

That's my question, is this Euro IV only as haven't been following this much??? My 2 06MYs were made autumn 06 and seem to be well outside the VIN range but wondering just how far back this problem goes.
Meant Autumn 05 build!!!

Problems with getting it fixed are region specific. Recallshave been region specific. UK got their recall a while after other parts. Looks like SA havn't got theirs yet, even on the Euro IV.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
