This revision of the "For Sale & Wanted" forum rules is effective from 13th May 2012.
Revision 8: addition of section ensuring for sale items are actually for sale
Revision 7: addition of section regarding sale or request spoiling
Revision 6: clarification of linking to off site sales
Revision 5: clarification for "copies of sat-nav discs" and posting of eBay items
Revision 4: addition of paragraph regarding contravening item listings and admin contact
Revision 3: clarification for "offers" - rules are not intended to prevent use of "ONO" etc

Your use of the "For Sale & Wanted" forum, either as a listing originator or a responder is covered by the following rules.
NOTE: if you feel that you have something to list but it would contravene one or more of the rules (for example, you do not meet the 'established member' requirements or you can't state a price for your item or items) then do contact me via PM or e-mail to see if/how an exception can be made. I hope that we can be flexible enough to accommodate all, these rules are new to the site and will need to be adapted as they can't yet cover every possible case. So please help make them better 
Summary of Rules
- The DISCO3.CO.UK For Sale & Wanted forum is provided for established site members to trade items related to the Land Rover Discovery 3, LR3, Discovery 4 and LR4.
- Items listed "For Sale" MUST have a price stated and MUST be for sale - not potentially for sale.
- "For Sale" items MUST include "For Sale" or "FS" in the thread title.
- "Wanted" items MUST include "Wanted" or "WTD" in the thread title.
- We do not charge for site access or for private individuals to sell items, please consider a Donation
- Companies or company representatives MAY NOT sell items on the site without a sponsorship agreement – please see the Commercial Posting Rules for more details about site sponsorship and the restrictions applied to business postings.
- Don't spoil others' threads, if you have a comment which could be seen as damaging a sale or request then send a PM in the first instance.
- The DISCO3.CO.UK administrator, and the moderators and staff, cannot accept any liability for items listed or for any losses incurred from the use of the classifieds forums. If you are a victim of any activity you feel is illegal please report this to the moderators who will endeavour to help you.
- The decisions and actions of the administrator and the moderator team are FINAL, no correspondence or conversations regarding their activity will be entered into.
Who can list
- In exchange for free use of the site and the free "For Sale & Wanted" forum we expect sellers to contribute to the site – this means taking part in discussions and not using the forum solely or mainly for selling items.
- Therefore, only those site members who have established themselves on the site are permitted to post in the For Sale & Wanted forum.
- "Established" means that you have been registered for at least 1 (one) month AND have made at least 25 posts on the site. To help you establish yourself on the site, consider introducing yourself in the Welcome to DISCO3.CO.UK thread and sharing some information about your vehicle in the My Discovery 3 or My Discovery 4 forum.
- This means that you absolutely MAY NOT register for the site to make a For Sale post in one of your first few posts. Any such postings will be removed without prior notice. Repeat offenders may be banned from using the site.
- Companies or company representatives MAY NOT sell items on the site without a sponsorship agreement – please see the Commercial Posting Rules for more details about site sponsorship and the restrictions applied to business postings.
What you can list
- The DISCO3.CO.UK For Sale & Wanted forum is provided for site members to trade items related to the Land Rover Discovery 3, LR3, Discovery 4 and LR4.
- This includes, but is not limited to vehicles, parts, accessories and literature. Items from other vehicles which fit the vehicles above are also permitted.
- Items not covered by the above may still be listed, for example other vehicles or non-vehicle items. However such adverts are accepted solely at the discretion of the site administrator and/or moderator team.
- Items which MAY NOT be listed include, but are not limited to, firearms and ammunition, knives, tobacco and tobacco products. If an item is deemed inappropriate it will be removed by the moderator team.
- You MUST NOT list items which infringe intellectual property rights, i.e. trademarks and copyright. For example, this means you CANNOT sell, give away or request copied (non-genuine) satellite navigation system DVDs (genuine discs are allowed), or items produced bearing a third-party logo without the consent of the logo owner.
- You may not post links in the "For Sale & Wanted" forum to items listed on auction or sales sites (e.g. eBay, Autotrader, Pistonheads), whether or not the item is being sold by you
- All items listed as being "For Sale" must be freely available - a FS listing is not to be used to test the water for interest or to discover what price should be asked for something. Use the "General" or "Off Topic" forums as appropriate for this.
- Acceptance of all listings in the "For Sale & Wanted" forum is at the agreement of the site administrator and/or moderator team, who may request modification to your listing or may remove it without notice.
How to list
- To list in the "For Sale & Wanted" forum, start a new topic for each SET of items you are selling at one time – it is NOT necessary to start a new topic for EACH item
- If you are listing an item/item "For Sale", you MUST include "For Sale" or "FS" in the thread title
- If you are listing an item/item as "Wanted", you MUST include "Wanted" or "WTD" in the thread title
- If you are giving away an item/items, you MUST include "FREE" in the thread title
- All items posted "For Sale" MUST have a price stated, it is NOT admissible to only state "offers", "POA" or "contact me for the price". "ONO" or "OVNO" ARE permitted, as long as a guide price is stated.
- Photographs are advisable, do not be surprised if prospective buyers request pictures of your items. See these threads for adding images to your listing: Creating a Photo Album and Uploading Pictures and Posting a Gallery Picture in the Forum
- There is currently no charge for site access or for private individuals to sell items, so please consider Donating if you make a sale, or if you find an item you want being given away for free.
Listing information
- Don't spoil others' threads, if you have a comment which could be seen as damaging a sale or request then send a PM in the first instance. For example, if you feel the price is too high, as items advertised elsewhere are a lower price, or similar price for a newer item, then tell the seller via PM. The moderators reserve the right to remove posts which are deemed to be affecting, or with the potential to affect, a sale or request

 on the top left of the post. Do not reply to the listing, just bring it to the attention of the moderators and we will deal with it.
- These rules will be reviewed on a regular basis and updated accordingly.

Update to revision 8: items posted for sale must actually be for sale, not testing the water, pending other events, etc.
This is to prevent frustration towards purchasers finding items like this are withdrawn.
