Brill. Thx Wiggs ! The video looks good. I feel like I understand the unit now. Shame about the instructions though, but got there in the end...

Now thats a clever little box. how do you guys find all these things
I cant find any new ones for sale only a 2nd hand one on ebay USA
Did you buy from the site on the link?
it would seem the best way forward to get a real rear view camera working
On a none related note. i have a 2009.5 model and the hidden button seems to have gone on the home page. searched every where on screen
It is there in the nav menu just not home page
any ideas

Just a quick question.
Will the REAR-C facility 'overrule' the other camera inputs, or is it possible to 'toggle' between the different views when the car is in reverse.....
I ask because i like the REAR-C function, but i will install two reverse cameras. One on the car, and one on the trailer. I would like to be able to switch between the two reverse cameras.
Got the GVIF unit and one camera yesterday.....
Got it from ebay, but for sale here.

You can toggle it. There's a small remote with the GVIF unit that allows you to change inputs. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

yes, when the reverse camera is activated it overrides everything else even the remote toggle button ( on mine anyway )
I am also in the throws of installing an additional reverse camera to supplement the one I have already setup via the GVIF box and have come to the conclusion the simplest way to do it is to have a small two way video switch somewhere to swap between the two. Doesn't mean that you can't still have it on a 'Y' cable somewhere so it can be presented to one of the other inputs though. and theeeeennn......???

wiggs wrote:Oh forgot to add ..the latest ones of these units have an FM modulator built in aswell so you can just tune the radio in and listen through there ..supprisingly good sound too
The gsmserver site has ver.5.1 whereas the GVIF module specification pdf talks about ver.6.1. Is it 6.1 that has the FM modulator and if so has anyone found a source for v.6.1 interfaces? All that I could find have v.5.1 on offer...
Thanks
