Couple of photos of the tow bar storage fitted to a D3 with rear aircon
My tow bar stays in the garage as it will not fit in this anymore as it has a MaxxRaxx clamp attached to it.

Leave it on all the time - don't expect it to be there when you need it . . .
Had mine taken from a hotel car park, new one stays in the holder "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Well I had a go at fitting it... only problem was the captive nuts to bolt it to don't have any threads in them

Me too! Do you think if I start by giving it a clout with the hammer they will self-tap??

Regarding the riv-nuts or captive nuts or whatever you want to call them. When I fitted mine I just wound the bolts into the hole and it cut its own threads. Well I say 'cut' it doesnt actually cut like a tap would but I guess the nut is soft enough to allow the bolt to forge a thread.
Worked fine for me.

Its been a while since i did mine but I recall you have to cut some sound proofing out of the way and the holes dont have threads in, the bolts make the threds the first time you wind them in.
As always I would think The Large One would be able to help.

So you don't have to drill the holes? I have lookt under the sound proofing carpet but cant seem to find the holes.
The holes do they have rubber taps in?

I never had to.
It should be on the left side when you look in the back behind the removable panel in the side.
