Vehicle Enhancement Program
Is now on GTR so the dealers should know about it. A034/A036V3 Service Action.
Its basically an amalgamation of everything we have ever come up with as a solution on this site over the past 18 months, including the infamous tailgate strut check!
It also looks like we early model owners will loose the pre-heat function.
Compressor part number check, with either a repair kit application, or a renewal of the compressor if it meets certain criteria.
Installation of the overlay harness on the park brake.
Check of a grommet on the enviro box.
Many software upgrades.
Does not include the upgrades to the Infotainment system, or Park Distance control ECU replacement.
I would hang fire before bombarding the dealers with this, as they should be allowed a chance to do this officially.
Thanks to AN for making me aware of this one .
It was released 9th June. Only applicable for 2 years, expires 5th June 2008.
Can you add what VIN ranges this covers? i.e. is it for the latest 06 models?Matt

Quite an involved document, although it removes the guesswork from the equation by having an option within WDS / IDS to run 'Reassurance Programme' which will update all vehicle modules as detailed above
I suspect that TC and JE will be very busy shortly re-flashing engine control modules

5A000259 - 6A390949 is a lot of vehicles. Does anyone know if they are running through numbers in sequence and if so where have they got to?

Reading the thing in detail, I would say the line "at the next service opportunity" implies that they are not going to ask you to bring it in, but that the program will be carried out as and when the vehicle is next seen at a dealer.
I suppose this makes sense, as it is a "Service Action Bulletin". This is probably one up the serious scale from a "Technical Bulletin" which is usually actioned "upon customer complaint" , but one down from "quarantine" or "Recall"
Like I say, lets see what happens. Mine is going in soon for a new coolant bottle, so I will see if they grasp the chance. Mind you, mine has had most of these issues fixed already. It will probably just be a compressor check and software check for me.

Thanks to Gareth I got this one and I have a couple of question (hopefully somebody can shed some lights on these):
1, It is addressed to "All UK Authorized Repairers", meaning that only UK dealer will do it or will it be done in the "colonies" as well?
2, They are talking of renewal of air compressor, is this means to change the all thing (compressor) or some repair work on it?
3, There is EPB overlay harness installation, what is this for (which problem it fixes)?

Just to further complicate things, there seems to be two programmes
A034/A036EXV3 to 'All national sales companies and importers excluding North America'
and
A034/A036UKV3 to 'All UK authorised repairers'
The only difference I can see is that the UK version includes a section relating to the EPB harness splice inside the air compressor enclosure whereas the other does not
Looks like NA doesn't get anything done

AN,
There is three levels of action on the compressor, dependent upon part number.
1.Check delivery valve, if damaged, replace compressor - if not damaged replace delivery valve and install exhaust valve kit.
2. Install a new delivery valve and install exhaust valve kit.
3. No action required
all is determined by physical inspection of the compressor

Thanks, I was not sure that what "renewal" really meant in this context (English is not my mother tongue).

Am I right to assume that cars above the 390949 number will not be covered by this "reassurance program"??? Mine is about 1300 above that.

It should mean that yours already has all the latest software and compressor / EPB issues sorted
