Hi, from sunny east London. Had my '07 D3 for two or three years now and love it to bits. Recently some mates have been upgrading their Landy's for some a little green laning and off road fun so I've decided to follow suit and make a few mods. It made me realise how long its been that I haven't got round to joining a decent forum for asking questions and getting advice, so here I am. Look forward to getting to know a few folks.

Hi - Been a Disco 4 HSE driver since 2013 and car hasn't missed a beat since spending its first 6 out of 8 weeks in in the garage in all that time. Regularly serviced and tows a 3.5 tonne digger round without missing a beat. So incredibly happy with the car up to now. This morning big red triangle of doom appeared with Restricted performance when went over a tiny bump - no obvious cause outside and no more info on dashboard. Has now been sitting and fault has disappeared. My local Indy garage that i normally go to is shut due to the lockdown. May i ask what is the best code reader for Land rovers (also have a Q7 and a Mitsubushi outlander so any thing able to read these as well would be good? Many thanks
Alan

Hi Kenny and Alan and welcome to the mad world of this forum - you have already entered the "rabbit-hole" by purchasing a Disco
The best code reader from the knowledgeable peeps on here is the Gap IIBT tool.
You may want to have a search on here, a starting point maybe:

Hello all
Owned my disco 3 HSE 2005 2.7 since April 2018. One owner and full SH before that with over £15k spent in last 4 years of his ownership, so guess he thought time to trade.
Shudder, so mega flush and dr tranny, but this forum has been incredible in my getting my hands a bit dirty for the first time since the 80s, lying in a gutter under my Mk2 escort lifted by a scissor jack with cheap spanner’s changing the propshaft. The folk here have posted so much useful information that I guest stalked for years decided to register.
Now all I seem to do is read about “jobs” that I might do.... just ordered glass mat to replace my crumbling engine soundproofing. Oil pump check, timing belts due next year... will I be brave enough to have a go by then...
Thanks to all you contributors that have posted guides and advice. Saved me lots of cash.

Hi Martin
I've had a 2016 D4 from new and now the warranty is over I've already found this site very useful when looking for solutions to odd problems that crop up every now and again!
It is the best font of information for the D4 that I have found.
Thanks for the time and effort you invest in it!

Hi all
Expat currently living in NZ, had a couple of td5's back in the UK and took the plunge on a D3 last year here in NZ. 07 Tdv6 Hse. Asked all the right questions before buying and with full service history and all receipts of work done it seemed like a sensible buy, this included a receipt for a recent cambelt change including upgraded oil pump....... However, said oil pump was not upgraded and subsequently broke off the tensioner in December destroying the engine 🤕. After much back and forth nonsense with the dealer and a lengthy process involving a motor vehicle disputes tribunal the engine has now been replaced.
I'm told with new cambelts and upgraded oil pump. All receipts are to be provided to me...... How will I know if it has had the strengthened newer oil pump installed?
Appreciate any info or feedback from anyone who has had a replacement engine too.
