i have used both winterhoff and now alko with no probs at all, much preffer the auto for towing, first d3 was a manual, pulling senator louisiana twin axle, towed fine but noticed clutch smell on thick grass/soil cl sites when reversing up slight inclines ,probably should have used low ratio.
cheers

Thanks all.
The Thule detachable towbar seems a good price when compared to the official LR.
Anyone any experience of this one?

Guys just a crazy question but these are Air suspended vehicles?
I thought LR frowned upon load leveling devices?

hi ap
the thread refers to alko or even winterhoff hitch head assemblies, they are now fitted to most caravans to help stop the caravan swaying by gripping the towball very firmly(,like a damping device)they do not affect the suspension.(obviously the caravan or trailer must be loaded correctly)
