It's all crap - looking forward to seeing hem and giving him the facts, but like a true politician he will ignore the facts and reel of bull.

Surely the congestion charges and other so called “green taxes” have a hidden inflationary influence on the economy?

Indirectly it puts the cost of living up, which means the masses put in for bigger pay rises to pay for it, which means rises in consumer spend (more cars???), which means interest rate rises to slow down inflation and spend...and so on a so forth.

Not that good for the environment is it?
Confused

When this shower came into office they kept wobbling on about how inflation was so low. They still do.

If so, how come a parking permit for my MINI has gone up by more than 100% since 2000? Water bills up by 50% since 1997. Gas and electric cost 3x as much as 1997. Home insurance up by 50%. Council Tax has doubled.

Inflation is 2%. My ar$e, it is. Unless you get Golden Gordon to work it out, in which case a science like mathematics can be bent to give the desired answer.

Livingston keeps using the 4x4 as the vehicle which is going to be taxed - why cann't reporters etc see that it will affect the majority of family cars. This is a tax on the family. I will still drive my RRS in London!

My afternoon of depression has resulted in me posting a comment

Do I tell you what size your house should be?
Do I tell you when to switch on your lights?
Do I tell you when to turn on your heating?
Do I tell you which washing machine to buy?
Do I tell you when you can use your tumble dryer?
Do I tell you how often you can boil your kettle?
Do I specify the bicycle you own?
Do I tell you which foods you can eat?
Do I tell you where you can go on holiday?
Do I tell you which laptop to own?
Do I tell you.....anything?

No ...so don't tell me what car I can drive !

Oh, I forgot the CC itself. £5 to £8 in one go! 60% increase.

Livingston is unlikely to get booted out because he appeals to the social benefit class - those who rely on the state to provide for their every need and they dislike people who are better off simply because we work and succeed. Get used to being the minority and paying for the majority because that is what has happened in this democracy. Some people are too stupid to be given a vote!

All I can say is I'm glad I don't live anywhere near London. It's bad enough having to pay "road tax" (now THERE'S a misnomer if ever there was one!). And I don't suppose there's much we can do about these greenie envy taxes Banging Head

Interesting stats in here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4296968.stm

Despite overwhelming 'public' opinion, Ken listened to a couple of advisors who suggested that saving 5 minutes off of a journey was worth persecuting the 100,000 residents of K&C and the almost 1m in the boroughs surrounding the zone that will feel the brunt of additional traffic.

And another thing... notice how there are no plans to move the CC boundaries North (to where he used to be an MP) or East (where most of his support comes from). Only West and South.
