bearmach resells RASTA 4x4 thats where i got some of my underbody protection bits from
but that carrier looks flimsy and I would not be confident to take it for long shaky trip
Mine is a Rasta 4x4 one as sold by Bearmach. I've done 60k + miles with it on now (including two 'long shaky' trips to Morocco and back) with no issues, would happily buy another one if needed toThe End

I've had a Big Country and now have a Rasta carrier (and the Bearmach one looks like a direct copy of the Rasta).
In my opinion the Rasta is better quality albeit the BC is made of huge lumps of metal.
The one thing that spoils the BC is the lack of adjustment for the actual wheel mount. The Rasta has a degree of adjustment in / out and the head can be reversed - useful dependent on the size of wheel fitted (normal or slightly oversize).
I use mine off road with both types fitted and have had no problems at all - 'shaky' or otherwise.I see no ships........

I saw in the phoos of that on the RASTAFARIAN there is a pneumatic jack (style tailboard of safe(chest))
Is what that is of origin?
Had you during the assembly of raer spare wheel carrier of the problems with the sensors rear ?

The pneumatic strut is on both the Rasta and the Big Country carriers.
It helps avoid the carrier swinging wildly when you open it on anything less than level ground - it also prevents it opening too far and bashing into the body work.
I did have a problem with the rear sensors after fitting - this was simply cured by putting a bicycle puncture patch over the sensor immediately below the carrier. I got this tip from TFC ( ).
Remember the wheel sticks out beyond the bumper - so you don't have as much clearance rearwards as the sensors think - it's no problem and you soon adapt - try a gentle reverse up to a wall or similar and have a watcher tell you when you're near it - just note the tone of the sensor then.
You can also wind other drivers up in car parks by reversing right back so the spare overhangs their bonnet I see no ships........
Mine doesn't have a pneumatic strut but it was a very early one, it does have a latch and peg to stop it opening too much though, opens about 100° max. Non-Stick Nick had/has one the sameThe End

I prefer the rasta spare wheel carrier, for 2points
-rollingbearings
- section of tube
But the bearmach is it an rasta or a copy that is the question
I think I try to phoned to bearmach to ask this question..... because I think that there are some making in the world.
If I don't found I buy a rasta......... who know a saler with best price (MP is you want)
