I noticed the front and rear heated screens automtically came on in the last two weeks when I start the car - I think it is related to the external temp guage being 4c or lower
I get caught out by the boot all the time as I pull up and expect the wife/kids to open the boot and chuck their bags in and then a few seconds later they haven't, I look in the rearview mirror and they're just standing there - I then realise it's still in drive.D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

Just discovered the rear wipe goes from intermittent to constant wipe if you reverse at speed.
If your are just in reverse or crawling backwards it does not do it.
but .. must admit, I only found the coin tray in the dash earlier this year. must get round to reading the manual at some point.

I hadn't noticed the small square light in the overhead console
Also same ref the wipers where they slow down according to speed
See there’s also a blank under the door mirrors which I assume is for an extra puddle light ?? , door puddle lights weren’t there so I had to cut the panel to fit them

They call the mirror light welcome lights. As they come on (well fade up) when you unlock.
Purple wire. Needs enablinging in ccf.
The rear wiper copies the front wiper when in reverse
Just like a 1985 Granada.

Hi Pete
many thks, imagine that would be quite handy if ur somewhere with no street parking
Might have a look at that , so is it just the purple wire and ground then plse
Only thing is if u have to remove the mirror glass to gain access

After 18 months I’ve only just noticed that when you select reverse, the mirrors drop....but at about 5mph (whilst in reverse) the mirrors go back to normal but drop again as you slow down.

have a look (from inside the car) if you have the purple wire. (may have white stripe, can't remember)
and yeah ground.
Some RRS had them, don't know if D3 would have the wiring.
I'm not sure I would bother, as when they are enabled the door puddle lights are sometimes disabled.
A few reports of people moaning about it.
So if you really like the puddle lights, and do a good job, I would stick with them.
Knows it won't stop him

Hi Pete
Think ur right u know , a lot of messing around, the puddle lights do actually give a good light and pleased with them
Plus would have to cut the aperture out for the welcome light and only got to mess it up and that’s a mirror replacement
Think I’ll leave it
Am going to fit some dot type led spot lights in the boots overhead panel to give abit more light , should be an easy enough job as I can just come off the existing light , will paint spray the outer light surrounds to match the headlining
Or fit them in the side boot panels seeing there black
Plus fingers crossed the hard work I done earlier installing the windscreen heated washer jets will pay off
Thks as always

Hiya
Ur a diamond as always thank u so much
These are the other ones I’m currently looking at , as they look chrome could fit them to see what they look like first , if they look horrible won’t take much to quickly paint spray them the same colour as the headlining
