been there since day 1 on my D3. Don't know if it was a feature on models later to yours and you have recently had a software update ?

Buda, could be indicating your battery is on it's way out or just low charge if you've not done too many miles in it recently.
But it's as a result of your battery voltage not being as high as usual to save the battery.

Bodsy

are you sure ?

I had similar symptoms a month ago, so I check mysystem with a Bosch Bat 110.

It showed the system was good and the cranking system was top notch.

However my battery was flat after a 10 days in the cold (-11) after visit to the stealers for some warranty work, I put it down to some IDS work without proper supply, but not sure now.

I will be carryng the MSV2 and the ctek 2500 in the next few weeks until I am confident with the system again.

It's related to the battery power (voltage declines as power/charge level declines).

Not necessarily that the battery is fu'bared, but def that there's not as much charge in there as it would like.

If you've fully charged the battery )properly charged with a charger) then you shouldn't get the message really.

Of coiurse if you hav eyour radio on powerr 30 or something similarly loud, then it may well just switch itself back to vol 23 with that low power mode message as well.

Sometimes get that if listening to low volume Aux inputs (meaning you hav eto turn the radio up really really loud.)

Are we not talking about the standard 'low battery mode' that comes on when you wind the volume up when the engine is not running? Buda may have just had the volume higher than before (age onset deafness?) when he turned the ignition off and hence noticed (eyesight still ok though) this rather normal caption for the first time.

I'm with the 'nothing wrong' club above!

buda ALTERNATOR KNACKERED, you're running on the battery.....recon you'll find it will not start int morning so if yer can get it on charge asap Shocked

Exactly what happened last week - running on battery drove back to swindon with mr AA behind me, then that message came up on the radio/cd whilst on the motorway and then would not work, a few miles down the road all singing and dancing lights, went out of gear, air suspension went, the works (ps only thing working was the hazards) Big Cry

Sounds like a tactical battery change is required, for myself then, the original is 4 years old, so before it takes the alternator with it, a new one is required.

Happened to me and I left it and left it and I drove to my house in Spain and it packed up on arrival. fortunately I was able to get a replacement over the counter at Carrefour.

So, moral of the story.....don't leave it.
