So this means getting to the actual screen system & tuner software, and disabling that feature. Bet there's a way into that somehow, its bound to be a trans-national third party piece of kit.

Hi there newby here reading the above are the pics showing the additional screens available on a 06 HSE
or is that on the additional stuff on the newer models only? Im considering putting a rear camera one of the Vision NPL-10103 ones that fit in the numberplate light and wonder if the screen shown on the pics previously is my route to installing one?
Also does the Red and White RCA style need an adapter to connect to the rear of the sat nav??

The diagnostic screen is available on all models / years with the touch screen .

You can put the camera into the screen ..unfortuantly at the moment you have to select it manually ( via the diagnostics ) or use an interface box .

You would need fakra or smb type connectors to plug into the screen G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks Wiggs I think at the moment Im gonna wait to see. Without sounding stupid because im sure you
have spent hours looking at this subject. Is the screen purely a monitor or is it nav spicifically.. I just wondered if the nav input was switched off would it display the rear camera input as that then would be the only live input?? If the other two inputs are not enabled could you have a switch box and have both the nav and camera into the same input and switch the feed?

The sat nav is sent to the screen via a seperate connector (gvif)

This is how the interface boxes work by interupting the signal . You would still need some sort of gvif converter G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just been reading this thread as we've picked up an 06 HSE and would like the TV feature.

I know nothing about auto electrics etc and would like an idea of how much it would cost to have it fitted.

Wiggs, you seem to be the man in the know, could you help out here?
