hang on... that's extra long life...have you put it in already and how far have you filled it up - recon it should be no more than around half way up will be the marker - shine a torch through from the other side to see "fill when cold" with a line above and below that phrase and take it to the higher marker.......any more than that yer need to suck up the extra.

BTW - COOLANT IS CORROSIVE - RINSE OFF ANY SPILLAGES ON PAINTWORK ETC AND IF SPILT NEAT WILL KILL PETS SO PLEASE DESPOSE OF SENSIBLY (ITS SWEET BY TASTE AND A FAVOURITE FOR CATS) Thumbs Up

This is the same stuff (colour) as what you've got - use this

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...zone=PLPz1

OIL - Ignore the photo which shows A3 grade you need 5W30 A1

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...yId_165581

ERE'S YER SCREEN WASH - Just pour it in to the blue lidded one - no need to dilute and around 2-3 inches from the top

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...55225#tab2

HANDY KIT TO KEEP TO ONE SIDE

FUNNEL - worth having one with flexi hose and a fixed one for oil

Hang on - I posted a picture of the side of the bottle for you with the cold fill marks clear to see!

And yes, it does require the pink stuff and needs to match the spec for the car (most of us seem to use the Halfords ready mix stuff to top-up).

Anyway, the ready mix comes in various sizes but the 2 litre will do you:

Now I am confused. Why would the Land Rover garage give me green stuff if I needed pink?

I am not 100% blond I do know the right hand side one is screen wash Rolling Eyes Rolling with laughter as in Winter I make sure to keep that full of the best screen wash stuff neat as when we go to the Alps the car is parked at 2,200m for a week or 2 and it is often -30c at night.

Green/pink I am confused?

Your car has the correct coolant in it and hopefully the photo of another D3 with pink coolant will reassure you of this. The garage sold you the wrong type and the Halfords coolant we have provided links to is correct for the D3.

The D3 is supplied with Havoline Extended Life Coolant (XLC) but any ethylene glycol based anti-freeze containing no methanol with only Organic Acid Technology (OAT) corrosion inhibitors can be used - hence the links to the Halfords ready mix stuff to keep it simple. Alternatively you could argue with your LR garage about the bottle they sold you.

The colour is a warning indicator to separate the blonds from the brunettes. Clearly they need a warning horn on your bottle too. Wink

Rang the LR garage yesterday who assured me the green liquid goes pink once diluted in the car and as there already was some coolant in the car I was ok to pour the green stuff straight. Have done so but also in future I got 1 litre of LR coolant for the same price as 2 litres in Halfords... Big Cry
