Now done! Its still a bl**dy hassle though - getting through to the insurance company was the worst. LRCS were easy peasy. Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Over here in Germany it's slightly different but my dealer did arrange for me to get TS-LR 220 (I asked about LR 3 but seemingly low numbers are all gone). Didn't cost me anything.

While I was over in Britain in December, I saw a Rolls Royce with MR 5INGH, which I thought was rather clever!

personal plate

My plate came off a 1959 Landrover, registered in Maidstone, Kent. I've had it 24 years on a succession of vehicles, & now has returned to a Land Rover.

Thinking of getting a personal plate for my Disco, just wondered how many of you guys have them and if its the rightkind of motor to stick one on? Question Confused

I have a D3 and with the name of Sean it was quite easy to get a plate with my name on it without too much drama or expense, the main dealer did refuse to take it for a test drive after it's fist service, (and last with these idiots) due to the numbers being innappropriatley spaced, the 5 being placed alongside EAN. Very Happy

Watch out for "independent" registration dealers who actually sell DVLA plates. Here's the scenario: The DVLA website advertises a plate for £399. An independent advertises THE SAME PLATE (even though they don't own it) for £375. Looks like you make a saving, but actually the DVLA price INCLUDES transfer fee and VAT, so the dealers price is actually £112.13 MORE EXPENSIVE!!! When you buy it from them, they just buy it from the DVLA in your name and cream off the profit!
