As Micky says we all want different things from a motor ...if you are happy in your mind then go with the GS ...if there is any doubt then go with the XS 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Fairly mediocre hifi in the GS tbh...along with the loss of leather and satnav I would pay the extra £3k ....also because you'll never get the same residual back from a GS even with those extras
Totally disagree with the above,on my second GS now after my first one covered 25000mls in 2 yrs it cost me very little to change for a new one (£6k to change)don't think you could change an HSE for anything like as little as that, not everyone needs all the toys and at the end of the day engine and transmission are exactly the same.

But 13% pays for quite a bit of depreciation and you lose more with up-specing a basic trim with extras rather then buying off-the-peg at a higher spec level.
Not expecting much to pay when I trade in my HSE either. Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Just ordered our third in the row using the military discount scheme. Had a GS first and now the 2nd XS. Like you didn't think we needed the extras on the XS but the seats in the GS gave both of us terrible back ache unlike the XS seats which seem a massive improvement in comfort and also the trade in values seem to hold slightly better on the XS than GS, more popular maybe on the forecourt. You won't regret either but if you can afford the extra cash I'd go with the XS every time . Go chat with the guys at Westovers in Salisbury, they have got me a better deal than Marshalls the last 2 years, only 2 dealers that will do the scheme I think.2018 D5 3.0 HSE Lux
