can someone clear up for me what should be the corect behavior for the fridge.
Today I got and fitted a one (green led) from the dealer in to my 07 xs and it stays on when the car is locked i assume it will shutdown when the battery gets low.
I have seen posts scattered round the site about fridge behavior , there seems to be a differece between green and blue led switches and also weather it stays on when the key is removed or shuts down. i have seen some people say it turns off with the key are they a factory fitted ones if they are is there a setting in the software to tell it to do that or are they just lucky it does. Or is it just one of the odd land rover things that it depends on the day of the week it was made as to what it is set to do.

cdf, sounds like you have the D4 one which will not switch off itself. You need to manually switch it off otherwise it will flatten your battery. Bodsys Brake Bible

you could always put a small voltage sensing relay in between the connectors Bodsys Brake Bible

Has anyone done this (fitted a relay)? I keep meaning to find and fit one? Is there plenty of space in there? there should be enough space for a relay underneath although probably will need to be to the side of the gear lever as the fridge and motor takes up a fair ammount of space there.
In fact you dont need to go to the expense of a VSR, use a simple relay like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-X-Relay-Micro-...4d0d1f8bb3
Simply have the 'trigger' running from the back of the 12v socket that is always switched by ignition. Bodsys Brake Bible

My part number is LR021370 I think that is the D4 version so I will have to be careful not to leave it on or I will end up sitting in a car park .
I paid £167 plus the nasty bit from my local stealer but I was watching one on eBay for £145 new more than 10 available and it said its genuine with part number FJB 501040 would I have been better off with one of these could they be old stock and have been more compatible with my car?
I just went for a genuine from the dealer as I still have a LR warranty on the car and I felt if it all went wrong I would have some comeback on it.
Not that it is of any importance as I got one when I ordered the fridge but I didn't have a coin tray should an 07 xs of had one fitted?
I was also told that if you have a fridge you should have a different lid but Lookers didn't ask me if I wanted one and they knew it was a new fit and I can't see what difference it would make as the cold air will sit in the bottom of the fridge not rise out the top.

Does anyone know of a relay that has an inbuilt timer so that when power is switched off (eg ignition) power is maintained to the appliance for a period of time before it switches off. I am concerned that a low voltage relay may not leave enough in the battery to start on some occasions.
