Do the factory wheel weights get thrown off easily? |
|
I'd only driven about 150 miles when the front passenger tire threw off the outside balancing weight and chipped the rim in the process. I haven't hit any curbs or big holes in the road or anything. I was just wondering if this was a fluke or if the factory wheel weights are prone to this sort of thing.

A Fluke James I would have thought... take a trip to your local tyre shop and have them replace them with the weights
that stick on the inside of the rim , they will be out of site , will look better and less of a chance of coming off in future.

just keep in mind that with the normal amount of D3 rubber and the location of stick on weights (nearer the centre of the rim) you might have a lot of them compared to the quantity of rim weights end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
