Sorry, not the best description of the location of this light. If you look up at the mirror and the light binnacle in front of it you'll see your three interior lights and switches. Head towards the mirror from there and you'll see a hole about 10mm across with an LED buried deep inside it, right at the forward edge of the interior light unit.
It dims with your dash lighting, so if you have the dash turned down low you won't see the LED. It casts a very subtle, soft blue/white glow on the area around the centre cupholders/gearshift when dash lighting is fully up. Easier to locate if you have the nav screen turned off. And if it's dark outside. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Pdes - Look on the roof section between the passenger and driver seats (what nodosh was saying)
Think this is what you should be looking for - the black bit just below the interior light.
To my knowledge theres no power to the rear view (mine certainly hasn't got any - unless you need power for auto dimming?) so you wouldn't have any power to light up and LED anyway.

Thanks guys, I'll have another rummage tonight.D4 HSE MY2015

Towpack
Surround cameras (joke!)
Vision assist
Extended roof rails
Rear Ladder
Remote heat
Prospeed sliders with steps
Come back from there towards the back of the car and the first thing you come to is the interior light and sunroof control cluster (big square plastic panel attached to ceiling). This is where it is, on the front edge of the plastic panel in the middle. Turning your lighhts on will help find it but even then it is hidden until you are virtually under it looking up into it.
Good luck.
This is turning into an execise on descriptive writing. I wish I had a camera!Life is what you make it.

FOUND IT!! I don't feel as though I have missed out on something now. I thought this was a screw hole!! Problem has been that when I arrive home at night, the security lights come on and drown out the light so I never notived the glow.
What an enlightening experience this has been! Life is what you make it.

This is probably well known but I have just realised that whereas the flicking of the indicator stalk in my D2 would cause a tremporary activation ontil the stalk returned, the D3 gives three flashes before stopping. Superb for overtaking! D4 HSE MY2015

Got a set of Tasmod's sill plates today....(luv em btw Rob)...
So thought I'd better do some cleaning before applying them. After I'd cleaned the necessary bit, I realised that the rest of the those inside but outside bits needed doing too...with real soapy water!!
So there I am on my knees washing the inside of the drivers door getting all the mud out of the rubber seals....
Imagine my surprise and delight when I slowly uncovered a sticker which had the tyre pressures on
No more getting to the garage, leaning over to the glove box, looking up the page for tyre pressures in the index flicking through to the right page, closing the book and leaning back to the glove box for me!!!
