Daft question perhaps - would these work on a pre-MY2007 and thus eliminate the fault codes that remain present when the EGR's are blanked ??

Hi Steve,
I've helped out on a couple of these for a few beta testers with geoff. and to be honest the car still reads as having EGR faults with them fitted!
The main reason for Pete's boxes on 07MY on is purely to kid the ECU and stop it flagging up Engine management light on dash and it potentially throwing the car into limp mode
I'm sure there is probably more involved which hopefully Pete will post up.

Hi all
Ill post more on price and fitting and availability very soon once I have calculated all the build costs and make fitting instructions etc etc.
The first prototypes did still show on some cars egr faults like they do on all early blankable cars do that don't need emulators, however we have rewritten the processor firmware considerably inside the module and changed the pcb layout and design fractionally to fix some small niggeling bugs some odd particular cars seem to have in their engine management base calibration software as standard as well as to try and address all the diagnostically shown fault codes.
The test cars that have this newer style module running the new changes we very recently made don't show any fault codes at all for the egr. Some cars may still show the odd random code which as said can be related and dependant on the engine control module software it has of which their are many many versions of.
We are aiming that where possible fault codes will be kept to a minimum if any do actually show at all. But like the early cars that have faults listed they don't ever cause running issues or the engine light to come on so if present are no problem at all and no concern.
Pete
Will we need to also fit your blanking kit, and if so will we be able to leave the pipework in place, so if the MOT testers look under the bonnet, then all will appear standard? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Down and out's Velar

The electronic kit will come with out current style blanking kit as a recommended fit. Some people may choose to fit part or all of it depending on their needs and legislation need but id personally fit all.

As the full blanking kit removes the stub-pips from the intake I would definitely recommend it. There is no current plan to include the EGR system in the MoT, even if it has been rumoured for years. If you want to retain the 'look' then hack-off the ends of the stub-pipes and refit the EGR pipe over the blanks.
