Thinking the sensor above the motor might be corroded but will need to drop the transfer box down to remove it

Fixed Mr. Green
The Transfer case was out of sync. I think the initial fault was water had got into the sensor multiplug on the transfer box , dried out plug and carried out a calibration using the throttle pedal method and it all kicked in nicely. All faults now able to be cleared and all working as it should Thumbs Up

Hi Tawny,

How is the throttle pedal method done?

Thanks.
Antony.

Hi Antony sorry for the late reply.

Switch ignition to position II.
Select Neutral.
Depress throttle pedal fully.
Press and hold the Range switch for more than 5 seconds to start the calibration.
Release switch and throttle.
Start engine whilst in high range and calibration takes about 30 seconds.
Switch off and wait 15 seconds.
Start engine again and select low range.wait 30 seconds again.
Switch off and wait 15 seconds.
Range and clutch calibration done

Is that transfer box calibration for both Manual & Automatics?
Mine MY 2006 D3 HSE Auto occasionally refuses to swap from Hi to Low but a work around for me is to switch engine off, wait until the nav screen turns off and restart engine and then the range switch does work.
Just wondering if a re-calibration might help?

Fault reappeared today Big Cry
Fault code P0915 shift position sensor which was stored in the transfer case ecu. I had previously found water in the sensors 2 pin plug , I had cleaned up and carried out calibration and all was good. Today same thing but unable to clear code or carry out a calibration. Looks like I will have to drop transfer box to remove sensor.
