Warranty and Rear Lights

So in the main, all the later spec black rear lights being sold on the flea market are described as "Original Quality" and made by Valeo.

I've been fortunate enough to purchase my 2012 D4 with a full LR Warranty.
Would fitting a set of these Original Quality lights invalidate that?

Has anybody bought a set and fitted them? They're marketed at just under £300.

Thoughts, knowledge and opinions would be much appreciated.

I've done the same thing upgrading my "black" 16MY lamps to the version that you currently have (they allow the reversing lamps to let out a great deal more light and they look a lot better on a red car) and the lamps that I received truly were identical to the OEM items.

I wouldn't expect LR to honour the warranty on the replacement lamps (why should they? They didn't supply them), but I am not at all concerned about it affecting the warranty on the rest of the car.

True. My dealer hasn't commented on a single mod that I've done when it's been in for service.

That's fair enough. The black ones look great on a grey car Thumbs Up

And..... It really was easy!!!

What wasn't easy was removing the sticky pads that had been used to stick down the rear number plate. Mad

Ive fitted xenons with fairy lights in replacement to standard halogens. Passed its MOT with dealer no advisories. No coments made. Hoing in for a service see how it gets on but cant say as theyve even noticed. I was told however that as long as genuine LR parts are used it should meet the criteria thus still validating the warranty. Interpret that as you will.
Now with: Tow bar & storage, Xenon's, Remote Timed Climate, Mood Lighting, Cubby Fridge, DRL's & Mud Flaps

Accessories: Rubber Mats, Spare Wheel Cover, LR Tyre Pressure Gauge, Warning Triangle, LED's throughout & Leather Gear Selector Top

Further Planned retrofits: 13 pin Tow Electrics & Heated Steering Wheel

Possibilities: Blackvue, Rear Seat Heaters & Memory Seat
